Yiorgos

About this author:

Originally from Greece, Yiorgos moved to Ireland in 2004. It was a year after he was introduced to the world of cigars, when Mark offered him what he remembers to be his first Cohiba Robusto. Since then, Yiorgos has developed a keen interest in the cigar industry and is continiously trying to further his knowledge of all its dimensions. While his family and work are his highest priority, he has found his pursuit of cigars to be more than just a hobby; a passion.

Christmas Corona Gordas, Day 4: Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No.1

My cold is not getting any better and smoking three cigars with the gang last night surely didn’t help. But we had a fantastic night and we all enjoyed it. The 4th Transnational Tasting next year will be something to look forward  to. Despite not being in the best of conditions to smoke another cigar, [...]

Our group was invited to participate in the 3rd Transnational Cigar Tasting, organised by the Russian Cigar Union, that took place on December 27th 2011. Our meeting [...]

Christmas Corona Gordas, Day 3: Romeo y Julieta Exhibicion No.3

Christmas Corona Gordas, Day 2: Punch Punch Punch

If Christmas Day is all about the kids, Stephen’s day has to be all about the adults. Winding down from Christmas day madness, with the kids occupied with their new toys, and more football and racing on the television than you can take, Stephen’s day has to be one of the best days of the [...]

Christmas Corona Gordas, Day 1: H.Upmann Magnum 46

I decided to start with the first review a little earlier than I was supposed to. Santa will be paying us a visit soon and three excited little men will be up very early to see what’s under the tree for them. So the rest of the day is going to be pretty much all [...]

12 Corona Gordas for the 12 days of Christmas - Starting Christmas Day

It has now become a tradition to smoke and review one cigar a day during the Christmas holidays. In 2009 when it all started,  I smoked 13 Robustos, while last year I went through 20 Lonsdales. This year I am going to smoke 12 cigars all from the same size, which happens to be my [...]

In Our Memory Of: Sancho Panza Molinos

So here we are with the last of the cigars from the “deletion” list of 2012, the Sancho Panza Molino. The Molino was one of the Lonsdale I reviewed around this time last year and I was pleasantly surprised from it. Its deletion will leave this small brand with only two cigars in current production, [...]

Photos from our Christmas Herf

Despite the arctic weather that hit Dublin, seven of us made it to our Christmas Herf, on Tuesday December 13th 2011, in the Morgan Hotel. We have had warmer nights in the Morganl, but after a few hot whiskeys, pints and some fine cigars, we managed to get through the night with no frostbites! Our [...]

In Our Memory Of: Bolivar Corona Extra

The biggest shock of all the cigars in the deletion list is the presence of one of the best Bolivars available on the market today, the Corona Extra. Since Rob and Smithy from Friends of Habanos posted their video expressing their feelings about the future if this cigar, the interest on them has sparked again. [...]
