2008 Regional Editions
Tuesday, December 9th, 2008They are here. Well, maybe not right here, but in another country or continent! The Regional Edition cigars are now available in the regions they were produced for.
Since 2005, the Regional Editions are special vitolas from the multi-local and local brands. They are kept in the markey for a year, or maybe two if the regional distributor requests their re-release.
Some of the vitolas are now extremely rare and sought. The Edmunto Dantes, released in 2007 for Mexico, the Punch Robusto, the Por Larranaga Magnificos and the Bolivar Double Coronas are prime examples of how special those cigars can be. From 2005’s five vitolas for three regions, we have now reached this year’s seventeen vitolas for twelve different regions.
Bolivar features four Regional Edition vitolas: The Short Bolivar (petit robusto, 52 x 110) for the Asia Pacific Region, the Armonia (double perfecto, 57×184) for the Chinese Region, the Petit Libertador (prtit robusto, 50×102) for the French Region and the Legendarios (robusto extra, 50 x 155), a re-release for the Swiss Market.
El Rey Del Mundo is featured in the Regional Edition Series for a second year in a row. The Especiales (Pyramides, 52×140) is available exclusively for the Italian Region.
Juan Lopez released two brand new vitolas. The Petit Pyramides (Petit Pyramides, 50 x 127) for the Carribean Region and the Maximos (Gran Corona, 48 x 157) for the Swiss Region.
La Gloria Cubana is featured for the first time in the Regional Edition Series with two new vitolas. The Marshall (Robusto, 50 x 128) is available in the Balkan Region and the Gloriosos (Robusto Extra, 50 x 155) for the UK Region.
Por Larranaga for a second year in a row will serve the UK Region with the Belicosos Extra (Pyramide, 52 x 140).
Punch has no less than three releses this year. The Robusto (50 x 149) will be available for another year, this time in the Arab Emirates. Italy will see a special re-release of the giant Diademas (Giant Perfecto, 55 x 233). The Pyramides (Pyramide, 52 x 156) is selected as the third Regional Edition vitola of this year for the UK Region.
Ramon Allones is also featuring three vitolas. The Especial de Allones (Pyramide, 52 x 140), a re-release of the 2005 Belicoso, for the French Market, the Phoenicios (Sublime, 54 x 164), a beautiful double banded cigar, also celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Middle East Distributor, Phoenicia Trading, and lastly the Grandes (Double Corona, 49 x 180) for the Spanish Region.
Lastly, Vegas Robaina with the Petit Robusto (50 x 102) is the first Regional Edition for the Portuguese Market.
Cigars like the Ramon Allones Phoenicios, the Punch Diademas and the Bolivar Armonias will be a must have for every cigar collector. If you are planning to visit the Middle East, Italy or China, put the above cigars on your shopping list!

A question really, can you tell me who I can purchase the Bolivar Middle East edition “Libertador” and “Legendarios” on-line, in ull boxes of 25.
I have searched and searched and I CANNOT find anyone who sells BOTH in the ull quantity, in fact I only ound one(Cigars of Cuba) that stock any of them at all.
I would be MOST appreciative or any assistance, a phone number, web-site, e-mail address, anything.
Thank You Sincerely,
Ahab Saada

Hi Ahab,
I dont think you will find a legitimate website that sells both cigars as they are for different regions.
The “Legendarios” were released for the swiss market last year. You can find them in Cigarone.com and in Topcubans.com. I can vouch for both shops, with Cigarone being one of the best online cigar shops (but not the cheapest!).
The “Libertador” was released in 2006 for the French region. I have only seen in in brick & mortar shops in France but i haven’t come accross them in any online vendor.
Happy Smoking!

I just read the comment by Yiorgas regarding Cigarone.com and I can vouch also for this website. I have made many purchases there, and their customer service is second to none. Not cheap, but often they include free cigars or free shipping when your purchase exceeds a certain amount. Happy shopping.
