A visit in El Laguito
Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011We are all back after a fantastic week in Havana. Readjusting to the Irish climate is not easy, and my first cigar back at home tastes like muck!
One of the great days in Havana was the one we spent in El Laguito. Thursday February 24th was the day of the official factory tour. While the crowds headed towards the Partagas and the H.Upmann factories, a few of us decided to go and visit a good friend.
Here are some pictures of our factory visit.

These photos are better than any I’ve ever seen of a Cuban cigar factory. You take us through the process in a way that really shows the quality and labor that is put into each and every hand rolled cigar. Gives me a new appreciation of the magnatude of the operation.
Oh, and sorry about that first cigar you had when you got back to Ireland…you must’ve picked up one of those that I gave you. :))
Hi Rick,
After smoking in the terrace of the Nacional in Havana, I had a feeling this was going to happen.
You have to make it to the next one Rick, thats all I can say!
Fantastic pics. Did you get to try the cohoba 66?
Unfortunately I didn’t, as I was not in the H.Upmann night, where it was launched. I didn’t get good feedback about it though, there was a lot of them half finished on the ashtrays.
Still very young…
You’re a fine man Yiorgos
