Habanos Seleccion Series are back?

The Habanos Seleccion eries first appeared in 2003. We have all seen or tasted the Seleccion Robustos, or Pyramides. In humidified boxes, with one cigar from each of the 5 global brands (Cohiba, Montecristo, Partagas, Hoyo de Monterrey and Romeo y Julieta), the seleccion was -and still is-  a very popular gift to a novice cigar smoker, or a souvenir from a visitor to Cuba. The cigars presented in the box were not regular production vitolas, but specially rolled every year for the selection box.

In 2008, in the 10th Habanos Festival Gala Dinner, all attendees were presented a humidified box with 10 current production cigars. According to all rumors, we will all be able to get our hands on them, as Habanos SA plans to bring the X Festival Seleccion in production during 2009. A limited amount of boxes will be produced the first year, and hopefully they will merit a place in Habanos’ yearly regular production.

Pictured above is the Haban0s Seleccion Box. The cigars from left to right are: Cuaba Generoso, San Cristobal Mercaderes, Cohiba Siglo VI, Partagas P2, Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure Especial, Romeo y Julieta Short Churchill,  H.Upmann Magnum 50, Cohiba Maduro 5 Genios , Trinidad Robusto Extra, and Montecristo Edmundo. All cigars will bear an extra band, to distinguish that they come from a seleccion series box.

The Seleccion Box will be available exclusively to the La Casa Del Habanos shops and all Habanos Specialist shops. I am looking forward to see these boxes hitting the shelves and I am very curious of their price!
