One of my votes for 08 would have been the 2008 D4. It is so last year, you are right, so one of my votes would be...the 2009 D4 :-)

It might actually be a good idea to do a voting for our favourite cigar of 2009, on a separate post. Each one of us will have to vote their 3 favourite cigars of 2009 and we will sum it up at the end of the month...

New post on the way!

Looks like Partagas Serie D No 4 won for 2008, but thats so like last year. In that 2009 is almost behind us what are peoples highlights for the last 12 months? - For me its either the Punch Piramide (UK RE), or Monte Sublime (2008 LE).

My favorite smoke of 2008 is probably the Cohiba Siglo VI, (I never met a Cohiba I didn't like) followed by Partagas Serie D. No 4, and rounded out by Ramon Allones Gigantes.

I only discovered this blog now but here's my 2 cents on my favourite of 2008.

I really enjoyed the Cohiba Maduro 5 magicos but only smoked a handful of them because of the price.
I also enjoyed the Partagas P2 and having been a Monte 2 fan, actually was suprised to find I enjoyed the Partagas more.

I should have posted up here before but better late than never.

My choice for 2008 is my all time favourite. Partagas D-4. The classics are the best.

So many to choose from! For me the Davidoff millenium robusto, followed by an Avo xo 80th anniversary belicoso. In Cubans, Cohiba Pyramid wins, hands down, than the Monte' Edmundo.

It would be a hard call for me, as there are many that I liked, so if I forget most of the LE's (always my favourite) it would be worthwhile mentioning Sancho Panza Coronas Gigantes vintage 1997. Very complex and subtle, but giving a perfect cuban taste.

I so agree with you Dan, you can't beat a good epicure no.2! You can hardly find 4-5 good ones in a cab of 25. It's like playing the lotto!
