A look of surprise and excitement came over my face when Yiorgos arrived to my house last Sunday with two Partagas Pyramids. Yiorgos was lucky to find these cigars and it makes for a lot of lively conversation. I had just finished a nice meal and now it was time to enjoy a fine cigar. Perhaps i may be slightly biased in talking about this cigar as i am a big fan of the partagas label, with the d-4 and p-2 falling into my top ten cigars.

This cigar has some similarity to the p-2 in terms of shape and size. although the wrapper is much darker on the pyramid. This edicion limitada has a distinctive wrapper leaf and strong aroma (common with so many good cuban cigars).

The stage was set for a good smoke and upon lighting i found the draw to be weak. The tobacco was tightly packed but this is common in some cigars but yet the draw can be very strong depending on factors like the storage and condition of the cigar. It is very hard to know the history of the cigar from manufacture to finding its way to the customers humidor.

The first thing i notice is there are no distinctive flavours present but the draw begins to open up a little as i smoke longer. The burn is very even throughout and there are no surprises.

In comparison to other limited edition productions i have smoked, i found this cigar to be poor. Although i was glad to have tried one, this is not a cigar that i would be looking for in the future. If you are partial to an interesting smoke that is complex and full of flavours this may not be the cigar for you.
